Wedding Games for Sangeet, Mehndi, Haldi and the Reception

From the mehndi afternoon to the reception floor — games the whole baraat can play. All 47 games are free to play, with no sign-up needed.

An Indian wedding is four or five functions and a hundred relatives who want something to do while the photographer sets up. These wedding games are grouped by function: sangeet games with dance dares, mehndi games for the afternoon of sitting still, haldi games for the mess, the shoe game and couple quizzes for the reception, and Antakshari and dumb charades for every hour in between.

All of it runs from one phone, so the cousin in charge of “games” needs nothing printed. Works just as well for Western weddings, bridal showers and engagement parties.

💃Sangeet games

Music, dance dares and the songs everyone knows.

🌿Mehndi games

Sit-down games for hands that cannot move.

🌼Haldi games

Loud, quick, outdoor-friendly rounds.

💑Games for the couple

The shoe game, how-well-do-you-know quizzes and couple dares.

🥂Reception and cocktail games

Table games for guests who do not know each other yet.

🧒Games for the kids at the wedding

For the table of cousins under ten.

Sangeet games that get everyone on the floor

Start with Antakshari in teams (bride’s side against groom’s side is the law) with the phone picking letters and timing rounds. Follow with Dumb Charades using the Bollywood pack — the actors are the uncles. The Wheel of Names loaded with dance dares (there are twelve on the Sangeet page: signature steps, slow-motion entries, teaching the hall one move) picks the next victim. Finish with Musical Chairs to the couple’s song.

Mehndi games for hands that cannot move

Mehndi afternoons are long and the bride cannot touch anything, so the games have to be spoken: Would You Rather and Rapid Fire Questions passed around the room by whoever has dry hands, Tambola with a friend marking the bride’s ticket, and film rounds from the Movie Trivia and Emoji Quiz pages on the TV.

The shoe game and other games for the couple

The Wedding Shoe Game is the reception favourite: the couple sit back to back holding one shoe each of both pairs, and raise the shoe of whoever the question describes. Forty questions are ready on the phone. Couples Questions and Would You Rather for Couples work as “how well do you know each other” rounds with the families guessing the answers first.

Haldi games

Haldi is messy and outdoors, so keep the games short and loud: Hot Potato and Pass the Parcel with the phone playing and stopping the music, Simon Says for the kids, and a Rock Paper Scissors Tournament between the two families for who applies the first haldi.

❓Wedding Games — FAQ

How do you play the shoe game at a wedding?
