What is Get to Know You Questions?

Get-to-know-you questions that fit the room: a Work pack for new teams and onboarding (“What was your very first job?”), a School pack for the first week of term, a Friends pack for deeper evenings, a Dates pack and a Family pack for the dinner table. Add names and the phone deals one question at a time to each person in turn.

The questions avoid anything that puts people on the spot — no salaries, no relationships, no politics — so the Work pack is safe for a whole-company kickoff and the School pack for eight-year-olds.

How to use get-to-know-you questions

At work: one question at the start of each team meeting, everyone answers in a sentence, takes four minutes and changes the tone of the meeting. In class: the School pack works as a circle-time round in the first week and as a partner activity later. With friends: the Friends pack goes deeper; play it late, one card at a time.
