What is Random Country Generator?
One press, one country — with its flag and its capital city. The list is sixty countries from every continent, so a geography round, a “cook something from…” challenge or a travel daydream is never stuck on the same five places. It is the fastest way to run a quick-fire geography game without a quiz bank: the generator gives the country, the players give the capital, a neighbour, a food, a famous person.
Teachers use it for the two-minute map warm-up (find it on the wall map) and for assigning research countries fairly; families use it to choose a cuisine for the weekend.
Country games
- Capital race: the generator shows the country, the first to say the capital gets the point (the capital is on the card to check)
- Map hunt: generate and point to it on a wall map or globe within ten seconds
- Cook from here: generate on Friday; cook one dish from that country on Saturday
- Flag draw: draw the flag from memory, then compare with the one on the card
- Neighbours: name two countries that share a border with it
- Research draw: each student gets a country for a project — fair and instant
- Travel bucket list: generate ten and rank them as a family
- Alphabet geography: generate a country, then name a city anywhere that starts with its last letter
