What is Family Scavenger Hunt?
A family scavenger hunt is different from a kids’ hunt because the finds are about your family: something Grandma would own, a photo of a family memory, the family’s favourite snack — mixed with the classic finds. The age group is locked to Family so a six-year-old and a sixty-year-old can play the same round; the countdown is 35 seconds.
It works at Sunday lunch, at a reunion, on a holiday evening and over a video call with a branch of the family in another city.
Family hunt variations
- Generations: pair each child with a grandparent; the pair fetches together
- Video call: both households run the same hunt; hold the find up to the camera
- Memory round: every item must come with a one-sentence story about it
- Who owns it: fetch an item, the others guess whose it is
