What is Birthday Scavenger Hunt?
A scavenger hunt for the party itself, with the location locked to Birthday Party: balloons, a present (don’t open it!), a party hat, something with a candle, the biggest smile in the room. The items come from the party around you, so it works in a living room, a garden or a hired hall, and it needs no setup beyond pressing Start.
It fills the two dead spots of every children’s party — the half-hour before the cake, and the slump after it — and the host runs it from one phone while the countdown keeps everyone moving.
Fitting the hunt into a party
- Arrival game: run it while guests trickle in; newcomers join on the next item
- Age group = the birthday child’s age; the countdown adjusts (60 seconds for the under-5s)

Rounds of 8–10 items keep a call lively for about twenty minutes; the countdown on screen keeps far-away cousins and grandparents in the same race.
Tips for distance play: pick the Photo theme so finds work in any home; ask players to keep one hand visible when they return (no off-screen helpers!); and run the last round as “bring the funniest thing you own” — the show-and-tell ending is always the best part of a virtual birthday.
