What is Hand Cricket?

Hand cricket needs nothing but two hands: batter and bowler show a number from 1 to 6 at the same moment, the batter scores their number, and if both show the same number the batter is out. This is the same game against a computer that picks its numbers fairly at random — or against a friend, passing the phone so nobody sees the other’s pick.

Call odd or even for the toss, choose to bat or bowl, then tap your numbers. Sixes and fours get their own celebration, the second innings shows the target, and the result card tells you the margin.

Hand cricket rules (odd even)

Two players. Batter and bowler each show a number from 1 to 6 with their fingers at the same instant. If the numbers differ, the batter adds their own number to the score. If they are the same, the batter is out. The classic game has one wicket: bat until you are out, then swap and the other player chases. Some schools play 6 or 12 balls an innings so that nobody bats forever.

Toss (odd eve)

One player calls odd or even, both show a number, and the sum decides. The winner chooses to bat or bowl.

Hand signs

  • 1 — index finger
  • 2 — two fingers
  • 3 — three fingers
  • 4 — four fingers
  • 5 — open palm
  • 6 — thumb and little finger out (the “hang loose” sign)

A little strategy

Batters who always show 6 get out to bowlers who always bowl 6. Mix numbers, keep a run of low scores going when the bowler is hunting sixes, and remember that against the computer every number is equally likely — there is no pattern to read, so the only real edge is patience with the balls limit on.

Hand Cricket FAQ

What are the rules of hand cricket?

Both players show 1 to 6 with their fingers at the same time. The batter scores the number they showed unless both numbers are equal, which is out. Innings end when the batter is out (or after the agreed number of balls), then the other side chases.

Does the computer cheat?

No. The computer picks 1 to 6 uniformly at random every ball — it cannot see your number.

What is odd eve?

The toss: one player calls odd or even, both show a number, and the sum decides who won the toss.

Is Hand Cricket free?

Yes — 100% free with no account required.

Does it work on mobile?

Yes, it is designed for phones first and works on tablets, laptops and TVs.
