What is Sudoku?

Real sudoku, properly made: every puzzle is generated with a guaranteed unique solution, so logic alone always gets you there — no guessing required. Pick Easy (about 40 clues), Medium (about 32, the classic newspaper level) or Hard (around 27, real pencil-marks territory), with notes mode, a mistake counter and optional hints.

Then there is the part almost no sudoku site has: races. Challenge the computer — it genuinely fills its own copy of your puzzle at an honest pace you choose — or open a private online room and race a friend on the exact same grid, live, each on your own phone. Share the room code, link or QR; first to complete the grid wins.

How to play Sudoku

  1. Choose Solo (pick Easy / Medium / Hard), Beat the Computer, or Online Friend (create a room, share the code or QR - you both get the same puzzle).
  2. Tap a cell, then tap a number 1-9. Turn on Notes to pencil in candidates.
  3. A wrong number is counted as a mistake; in Solo you can take a hint.
  4. Fill every cell correctly to finish - in a race, first to complete the grid wins.

Tips

  • Scan for naked singles first: a cell whose row, column and box already contain eight digits.
  • Use notes early on Hard — pencil every candidate in a tight box and watch pairs eliminate each other.
  • In races, fill the easy boxes first; speed comes from order, not hurry.

Sudoku FAQ

Are the puzzles guaranteed to be solvable?

Yes — every generated puzzle is checked to have exactly one solution before it reaches you, so pure logic always finishes it. The difficulty levels differ by how many starting clues you get (about 40 / 32 / 27).

How does two-player sudoku work?

Create a private room and share the code, link or QR. You and your friend get the exact same puzzle at the same moment and race live — you see their progress bar fill as they go. First to complete the grid correctly wins; rooms need no accounts and expire after 24 hours.

Does the computer opponent actually play?

It solves its own copy of your puzzle cell by cell at the pace you pick — Relaxed, Steady or Speedy. It does not cheat by knowing your board; it is simply a pace-setter with an honest speed label.

Is Sudoku free?

Yes — 100% free with no account required.

Does it work on mobile?

Yes, it is designed for phones first and works on tablets, laptops and TVs.
