What is Quiz Board?

The quiz-show format everyone knows from television, built so one phone or a TV can run it for the whole room. Five categories across the top, five point values down the side, and a host voice that reads each question, calls the buzzer and keeps the score. Contestants buzz in by tapping their name (or, with the phone on the table, by shouting and tapping together), pick an answer, and the points move. A wrong answer costs you the points and opens the question to everyone else.

Two twists keep the end exciting: a hidden Double Risk tile where the player in control wagers up to everything they have, and a Final round where every contestant with a positive score writes a secret wager before the last question. Questions come from the site’s own trivia banks — more than 2,000 across general knowledge, movies, music, science, geography, sport, India and kids’ topics — so a new board is a new game.

The six category packs

Each pack puts five categories on the board; every tile is a fresh question from that category’s bank (question counts in brackets).

Scoring rules

  • Right answer: add the tile value and take control of the board.
  • Wrong answer: lose the tile value; the other contestants may buzz once to steal.
  • Nobody buzzes in 15 seconds: the answer is shown, nobody scores, control stays.
  • Double Risk: one hidden tile (never in the 100 or 200 rows). Only the player in control answers, for a wager between 100 and the larger of their score and the tile value.
  • Final round: everyone with a positive score wagers in secret (0 up to their score), answers in turn, then the wagers are added or subtracted. Negative scores sit the Final out.

Running it on a TV or in a classroom

Fullscreen the page and cast it. The person holding the phone acts as the buzzer judge: when a contestant shouts their name first, tap it. For classes, use team names, pick the Kids or World pack, and let the Final-round wager be a quick lesson in probability — a leader with more than double the next score can wager nothing and still win.

How to play Quiz Board

  1. Choose a category pack and add contestants or teams; the host voice can be switched off.
  2. The player in control taps a tile. The host reads the question; the 15-second buzz clock starts.
  3. First to tap their name answers. Right: + points and control. Wrong: - points and the others can steal.
  4. One tile is Double Risk (control player wagers alone). After the board, everyone wagers in secret on the Final question.

What the screen does for you

Quiz Board on AllPartyGames.com is the referee, not the whole game: it gives the host 6 category packs from the site's 2,000+ trivia questions, Buzz by tapping your name, Steals, Double Risk, Final wagers, Narrating host voice, Scoreboard and winner ceremony, TV / fullscreen mode, while you bring one phone or a tv. Tap the ? button inside the game for these rules at any time, or 📺 for TV mode on a big screen.

How many players?

Quiz Board works with 2–6 players and a typical round takes about 15–30 min. Recommended age: 8+.

Tips

  • Teams of two or three keep everyone involved and stop one quiz whiz running away with it.
  • Save the high-value tiles: the player in control decides what is on offer, so pick low values until you trust your category.
  • In the Final, a leader with more than double the second score can wager nothing and still win — do the maths before you tap.

Quiz Board FAQ

How does buzzing work on one phone?

When a question is read, every contestant’s name appears as a big button. The first person to tap their name (or to shout and have the host tap for them) gets to answer. The 15-second clock ends the question if nobody buzzes.

Can we play in teams?

Yes — enter team names instead of players. Everything works the same; the team decides together who taps.

Are the point values matched to difficulty?

No. The points are the stake, not a difficulty rating — each tile is a fresh question from that category. That keeps the board honest and the choice of value a real decision.

Is Quiz Board free?

Yes — 100% free with no account required.

Does it work on mobile?

Yes, it is designed for phones first and works on tablets, laptops and TVs.
