What is Science Quiz?
A science quiz covering the four corners of a school science course — space (planets, the Sun, gravity), biology (cells, the body, animals), chemistry (elements, states of matter, everyday reactions) and physics (forces, light, sound, electricity) — in ten-question rounds with four options and instant marking.
It is pitched at ages 10–16 and curious adults, with answers that any school textbook confirms. For the general round, use the GK Quiz; for a kids-only set, GK Quiz for Kids.
Facts the quiz tests, by topic
- Space: the order of the planets, which is the largest (Jupiter), which has rings you can see (Saturn), why we have seasons (axial tilt)
- Biology: the powerhouse of the cell (mitochondria), the largest organ (skin), how many bones in an adult (206), which blood cells carry oxygen (red)
- Chemistry: the symbol for gold (Au), the most common gas in air (nitrogen), water’s formula (H₂O), what pH 7 means (neutral)
- Physics: the speed of light (about 300,000 km/s), why the sky is blue (scattering), what a prism does (splits white light), the unit of force (newton)
- Earth science: the layers of the Earth, what causes tides (the Moon), the water cycle
- Scientists: Newton and gravity, Curie and radioactivity, Darwin and evolution, CV Raman and the Raman effect
- Everyday science: why ice floats, why salt melts ice, why the kettle whistles

Science Quiz FAQ
What does the science quiz cover?
Space, biology, chemistry, physics and basic Earth science at school level, with four-option questions and instant answers.
Is it accurate?
Every answer matches standard school textbooks; where popular belief differs from the science (the speed of light, why the sky is blue), the quiz uses the textbook explanation.
Which age is it for?
Best for ages 10–16; adults will find most questions answerable and a few that make them think.
How many questions does the Science Quiz have?
Every round draws 10 questions at random from a much larger themed bank, so you can replay for a different set.
